Urban Symbols

You see them around downtown Colorado Springs, tied to lamposts and street signs. The Ghost bicycles, as I've heard them called, mark the streets like highway crosses. This particular bicycle was outside Wooglie's cafe near Colorado College Campus.

The first bikes appeared in St. Luis Missouri. To find Ghost bikes near your city, or simply find out more, see http://www.ghostbikes.org/

"... little did I know the wrenching reactions it would cause, all over the spectrum. I also didn't realize the cascading effect it would have, as several other bikes have gone up since. The power of this urban symbol is clear." -- Ari Shapiro, member of Tucson Ghost Bikes
