Got the role!!!!

So..

A quick update from Colorado:

I auditioned tonight for the guys from "We Do Monsters" a rather impressive, noir and horror inspired fun and funny web-series, see link for full video, or see their climatic IFC posting. Yes IFC, as in Independent Film channel.

In other News, Elizabeth Harvell's wedding gitters (it is one week from today) have done nothing to detract from her outstanding photography. See this photo which she took at 4 a.m. on an impromptu shoot.

That's a bridesmaid dress I'm wearing.

Well yes I am actually...

Last time I was at Farmer's market I made a detour near Garden street to try to capture an image of one of my favorite carving trees. I was distracted by the group at the end of the alleyway who seemed to be under the impression that I was acting as their own personal paparazzi, and they in turn approached me, and sent their most vocal, unlucky, or at least most outgoing member to ask me, like,

So, guy in yellow shirt- here's one of the photos I did take. There are a few others, regretably they are at a low ISO, and the focus is on the tree.

Adbuster's Cover Story...

(Photo of my shoes.)

I was struck by the end of the article.

"Dawn breaks and the last of the after-after-parties begin to spill into the streets. The hipsters are falling out, rubbing their eyes and scanning the surrounding landscape for the way back from which they came. Some hop on their fixed-gear bikes, some call for cabs, while a few of us hop a fence and cut through the industrial wasteland of a nearby condo development.

The half-built condos tower above us like foreboding monoliths of our yuppie futures. I take a look at one of the girls wearing a bright pink keffiyah and carrying a Polaroid camera and think, “If only we carried rocks instead of cameras, we’d look like revolutionaries.” But instead we ignore the weapons that lie at our feet – oblivious to our own impending demise. " (see full article at http://www.adbusters.org/magazine/79/hipster.html)

I ask you- is lawful revolution in the cards? A camera is a weapon, or it should be, and we, the over-indulged youth of America are increasingly equipped. The author of this piece goes on to describe hipsterdom as the end of civilization, this all feels like 1950's de'ja'vu to me.

What do you think?

Image of the day, September 1rst. Stark. Note tantalizing corner of a leaf in the upper edge, and imperfection as far as this composition is concerned. I ought to start posting one of my photos here whenever I can, to encourage myself to update here at all.
